मुक्तांगन को दान करते समय, पु. ल. देशपांडेजीने कहा, “किसी एक घर में भी नशामुक्ति का दीपक जल उठे तो मैं समझूंगा कि मेरा दान सार्थक है।”
पु. ल. देशपांडे वैसे ही मेरे पिता समान हैं। उनका अनुकरण करते हुए मैं यह कहना चाहूंगा कि यदि कोई व्यसनी जो इस पुस्तक को पढ़ रहा है और व्यसन के अंधेरे में भटक रहा है, उसे उम्मीद कि किरण दिखाई दे, तो इस पुस्तक को लिखनेका मेरा श्रम धान्य होगा।
